We are active in outreach programs to the Hamilton Hill Community of Schenectady and with the Central State Street Ecumenical Cluster of Churches.

We will be participating in the "Schenectady WOW Jamboree" on July 31, 4-8 pm, at the City Park by Norwood Ave and Schuyler Ave.   This is an outreach to the city with particular emphasis in the Hamilton Hill and Mount Pleaseant areas of the city.   Free food, games, give-aways along with music and the Christian message will be shred with all.

The Hamilton Hill and area clergy will once again be sponsoring the "Schenectay March for Jesus" on August 7.  We will gather at the Jerry Burrell Park at Hamilton and Schenectady Streets at 12:30.   the Mrach will begin at 1:00 pm as we follow the music throughout the neighborhood.  Stops will be made for prayer and a short gospel shout message.   We will return to the park for free food, fun and games for everyone.

This year our Vacation Bible School sponsored by the Central State Street Ecumenical Cluster of Church will be held on August 9 -13.   We will gather at the Tabernacle Baptist Chruch, 1401 State Street from 9 am to 12 noon.   Please contact our church office for registration information.

Both congregations are members of the Schenectady Inner City Ministry (SICM) outreach to the people of the City of  Schenectady.

Outreach to SICM

In the lobby of the church we have a wooden barrel for donations to the SICM food pantry. We especially look for donations on Communion Sunday (the first Sunday of the month), but we appreciate donations all during the month.

A new way we have been asked to help the food pantry is to save and donate water bottles (16oz). They receive liquid dish detergent in bulk quantity will use the water bottles to distribute the detergent to the people they serve. A box has been placed next to the SICM barrel for your donations.

City Mission...

Albany Street UMC has for many years served the dinner meal once a month at the City Mission. Every 3rd Tuesday of the month, dedicated members of the Albany Street congregation continue to serve at the City Mission.
